Each year Australian Women In New York (AWNY) hosts its Annual General Meeting which brings together the AWNY board, committee members, and volunteers for a night of celebration and gratitude.
This year it was hosted in September and gave guests a chance to learn more about the organization and each of the committees.
President Jacquelyn Drozdoff welcomed attendees, and Vice President Belinda Jackson spoke about the changing face of the organization since it was founded in 1999.
“Two decades ago most of the women who joined our group followed their husbands to New York, and were looking for connection with other Aussie women to create community. These days, we have so many more professional women moving to New York City to accelerate their careers.”
Communications lead Emma Cillekens invited those who “love telling stories of incredible Aussies and their achievements”, or posting about them on social media, to join her committee.
AWNY is also looking for volunteers in the Events, Community, and Families committee.
