AWNY is thrilled to be supporting the New York Magpies Women’s AFL team for a very special event.
The Queensland Fire Department Women’s AFL team is coming to New York as part of the 25th anniversary of September 11 commemorations.
On September 13 they will take on the NY Magpies at the beautiful Governors Island Parade Ground. The FDNY will also be joining with a special colour guard ceremony. It promises to be a powerful celebration of sport, community, friendship and the connections between Australia and New York.
What a day! The annual Big Aussie BBQ returned to Rockefeller Park at Battery Place, hosted by the ever-fantastic America Josh. With blue skies, sunshine, sizzling sausages, a few cold Aussie beers, and a backyard full of sports and games, it was the perfect way to spend an afternoon celebrating the Australian community in New York City.
