Faces of AWNY: Samantha Wills

Samantha Wills moved from Sydney to New York in 2010 when the Samantha Wills jewelry brand started to gain traction after Patricia Field selected a pair of her earrings to appear in the second Sex and The City film. That placement—celebrity factor aside—was a huge milestone and the move to New York allowed her to start the foundations of building the brand in the US market.

Faces of AWNY: Lucy Tupu

Designer Lucy Tupu fell in love with New York while visiting her brother here in 2002. After moving here permanently in 2004 she has built a successful creative studio where she designs and produces custom rugs, carpets, furniture and lighting. Lucy tells AWNY how she manages homesickness and navigates the city with her young family.

Kristin McIver is an Australian artist based in New York working in sculpture, painting, sound, video and installation. She also runs KRS Creative, an agency making websites and crafting digital marketing campaigns for very cool clients. On the eve of her first major solo exhibition closing in New York, we speak to Kristin about her exhibit ‘Impressions’ (which is a MUST SEE), what brought her to New York and her go-to neighborhood spots in Bed-Stuy.
