How ironic to return from Labor Day weekend to one of the hottest days we’ve had of 93F/34C! As the US Open enters its second week it seems only fair the players get challenged by a little heat… shame we can’t all be at the beach to make that humidity a little more bearable though!
So, as the long, sleepy days of summer start to slowly disappear in the rear-vision mirror, I wanted to take a few moments to reflect on everything we’ve been working on recently. Firstly, there’s the AWNY Blog providing a fantastic portal to everything we’ve got going on. Couple that with our new and improved Newsletter and ever-increasing presence across all social media outlets – you’ll find “Australian Women in New York” anywhere you search! Congratulations to the tireless efforts of our Communications team, it’s been a transformative year so far.
As many of you have also noticed, we’ve been hosting a record number of events since May, averaging one per week well into the summer! The variety has been fantastic, with everything from book launches, VIP Theater experiences and art exhibitions, through to world cup viewing and yoga in the park. Great work to the Events Committee and everyone involved. It’s been wonderful to meet new members and catch up with old across the spectrum.
