It’s that time of year again when free outdoor movies start popping up all over New York City. Bryant Park kicked off the trend back in 1992, and since then summer movie screenings have spread across parks, plazas, rooftops, waterfronts, and public spaces throughout the city.
Whether you’re watching a cult classic, a family favorite, or a blockbuster under the stars, there’s something uniquely New York about seeing a movie outdoors on a warm summer evening. Throw in a skyline view, a blanket, and some snacks, and it’s one of the best free things to do in the city during summer.
