AWNY was hosted at a dazzling Private Launch event on Thursday 16 April at the Camilla Madison Avenue Boutique, celebrating the extraordinary The Metropolitan Museum of Art x Camilla collaboration. The collection of true wearable art set the tone for an unforgettable evening of style, connection, and celebration.
Sixty AWNY members gathered to sip Pommery champagne, enjoy the sounds of a live jazz band, and immerse themselves in the vibrant world of Camilla, and the six richly detailed, limited-edition prints on show.
Each print reinterprets inspirations drawn from The Met’s extraordinary collection — from historic textiles and precious porcelain to intricate jewelry — transformed into handcrafted, wearable artworks. The result is a celebration of imagination, where treasures of the past are reimagined as modern heirlooms.
Sahra Edwards from Camilla warmly welcomed guests and shared insights into the creative vision behind The Met x Camilla collaboration, highlighting the artistry and craftsmanship that define the collection. Bringing together 5,000 years of artistic history from The Met with two decades of bohemian print artistry from Camilla, the partnership celebrates a shared passion for creativity and self-expression.
Heather Ridout, the Australian Consul-General to New York, remarked upon Camilla’s global success and this exciting partnership, while Emily Laurence, AWNY Co-President expressed her thanks to Camilla for hosting such a special evening for the AWNY community.
Throughout the night, a live illustrator captured guests in the moment, while Camilla assistants guided attendees through the stunning collection, helping bring each look to life. AWNY members mingled, met new connections, and bonded over their Camilla purchases, trading compliments with enthusiasm.
The boutique buzzed with a shared appreciation for fashion and creativity, and the opportunity to spend an evening in the gorgeous Camilla Madison Avenue Boutique.
