It is that time of year again, Halloween! A parent’s nightmare but our kid’s favorite day of the year.
So, what’s happening in New York this year for Halloween? I noticed a lot of celebrations are happening the week before i.e. 26/27 Oct, which is this weekend.
Spooky Nights Walk Bronx Zoo Park, Bronx – Enjoy a night walk through the zoo, while enjoying pizza and checking out what happens as the sun goes down. They also do a daytime ‘Boo at the Zoo’ walk around. Daily until 31 Oct.
Asphalt Screams – The Upper East Side’s favorite sports venue has a halloween party on Friday 25 Oct, trick or treat activities, costume parade etc.

Halloween Haunted Walk & Fair – Located in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. This popular event (in its 40th year) brings thousands of kids in costume to walk around the park and enjoy food trucks, candy and games. Saturday Oct 26, 12-3pm.
Halloween Boo Cruise – Wear your costume and cruise around New York. costume competition on board. Sunday 27 Oct, 2-6pm.
Halloween Pumpkin Flotilla – Central Park, Harlem. Enjoy pumpkin carving, costume parade and then the pumpkin flotilla sets sail across Harlem meer at twilight. Wednesday October 30.
Halloween Bash – Brookfield Pl. Battery Park. Bring your kids all dressed up for disco, trick or treat and lots of fun. 12-3pm. Oct 31.

Annual Children’s Parade, Greenwich Village – One of the city largest events, free to participate. Walk your away around the Village with thousands of onlookers cheering you on. Starts at Washington Sq Park. Thursday Oct 31.
Halloween Boo Bash – Randall’s Island, Oct 31. Craft activities, games and candy for your bucket.
BAMboo – Brooklyn. Free Community celebration. Music, games, arts and crafts. 4-9pm on Halloween. Oct 31.
As you probably know, your local neighborhood will have dedicated streets with brownstones decorated and ‘block parties’ and if you are in a condo/ apartment building, you will have plenty of candy to collect from all the apartments.
