An Evening at The Rubin Museum of Art, July 20

AWNY is excited to present an exclusive 1-hour guided tour of The Rubin Museum of Art, including a walk-through of its impressive permanent collection and latest exhibition.

This a fantastic opportunity to learn about the museum, which aims to inspire visitors to make connections between contemporary life and the art and ideas of the Himalayas and neighboring regions.

The tour will be followed by drinks and a DJ at Rubin’s K2 Café where you can mingle with other AWNY members.

Date: Friday, July 20 2018
Time: 5pm – 6pm for the guided tour
Location: Rubin Museum, 150 W 17th St, New York, NY 10011 
Cost: $22 Members/$27 Non-Members. Price includes guided tour, drinks afterwards at bar prices.

Drinks at K2 Lounge

On Friday nights Café Serai becomes the K2 Lounge, offering a special Pan-Asian tapas menu along with a martini and wine bar to accompany the evening’s DJ, thematic gallery tours, and other programs.

The Permanent Collection

The Rubin Museum’s preeminent collection of Himalayan art includes over 3,800 objects spanning more than 1,500 years to the present day. Included are works of art of great quality and depth from the Tibetan plateau, with examples from related surrounding regions including Nepal, Bhutan, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, China and Mongolia.
