May and June are so chockers with AWNY and AAA events, there seems little room to add anything else into this months’ What’s On. The new AWNY event team, led by Carmen Cavallaro and Kate Lee, has already put some great things on the calendar. AWNY Spring Networking Drinks are on May 24th at Madison Square Tavern, 150 West 50th St, from 6.00pm – 9.00pm. With the season of spring well and truly upon us it’s time to give those networking muscles a stretch and join fellow AWNY members for a great evening – we hope to see you there! Australian playwright Wendy Benkett’s off broadway production of ‘A Better Place’ opened May 4th and runs through to June 11th. The play is a comedy about Manhattanites’ lust for real estate, and has Australian insight into New York life. Session times, tix and further info available here.
The America Australia Association’s Global and Mobile Immigration Update and Reception will be held on May 16th at District Cowork from 6.00PM. Tickets are $30 for AAA members, $40 non members. Purchase tickets and find additional information here.
Friends of Australian Wildlife conservancy, the charity that supports the conversation of over 10 million acres of Australian outback and 1,200 native species of Australian animals, is hosting its 10 Year Anniversary Gala at the Central Park Zoo on May 19th, commencing at 6.30PM. Coming to Agora Gallery this May/June is the exhibition, Out From Down Under & Beyond: Fine Art from Australia & New Zealand. The exhibition opens on May 20th and will run until June 9th.
