This is much better than pouring a bucket of ice water on your head

Do you remember the Ice Bucket Challenge videos that flooded our social media feeds in 2014? We giggled and gasped as sports stars and celebs were drenched in buckets of freezing ice water, and then nominated three pals to also rise to the challenge (often celebs as well). That challenge was raising awareness for Muscular Dystrophy and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), two devastating diseases that steal the ability to stand, walk, hug, breathe from sufferers.

The Muscular Dystrophy Association has been providing vital care and support for families with ALS and muscle disease and is the world leader in the search for the causes and treatments of neuromuscular diseases.

You can support this important work by attending The Muscular Dystrophy Association’s 22nd annual event ‘A Taste of Down Under. ’ Enjoy live music, fantastic Australian and New Zealand food, wine and craft beer while taking in panoramic views of the Hudson River, Empire State Building, Soho, and downtown Manhattan. Sounds much better than tipping a bucket of ice on your head, doesn’t it?
