Fall/Autumn is one of my favourite seasons in New York; I love the beautiful colours in the trees, Halloween, and pumpkin spice everything! If this is your first Fall in New York there are some really fun things to do with kids, from apple and pumpkin picking at farms in Jersey and Connecticut, to Halloween parades at the local playgrounds and pre-schools. A great resource for what’s happening around New York for kids is www.MommyPoppins.com.
Dinner Catch-Up
We had a really fun night out at Pagani on 9 October, with 20 Mums getting together over dinner. It’s great to see so many familiar and new faces coming along to these dinners and we’re usually the last to leave the restaurant!
Our next next dinner is scheduled for Tuesday, 2 December. Details will be sent out to members early next week but for now, if you’d like to join us you can RSVP on our Facebook page or email awnymumsandbubs@gmail.com.
Healthy Sleep Habits for Babies (past event)
A huge thank you to the wonderful Dr Natalie Barnett, one of our Mums & Bubs members who also happens to be a renowned Infant Sleep Behaviorist. Nat met with a group of our Mums a few weeks ago to share her knowledge on the importance of sleep, with some simple instructions on how to create good sleep habits and environments from a young age.
If you weren’t able to make the event and would like to get in touch with Nat, her website is Seven Oaks Sleep.
Australian Mums & Bubs on Facebook
It’s great to see so many Mums supporting each other on the Facebook page. There’s been some great discussion the past month on everything from what winter clothes you’ll need for your babies/young kids, what to look for in an apartment, which strollers are best for surviving the NY winter, and babysitter referrals. If you’re not already a member, you can join us at AWNYMumsandBubs.
