As temperatures drop, leaves start to change color, and the farmer’s markets fill with freshly picked apples …

there’s no better time than the energizing days of Autumn to kick-off some exciting new developments and events at AWNY.

For anyone with design inclinations we’re in our final week of submissions for the AWNY Logo (re-) Design competition. Keeping our legacy front of mind, we’re looking for a contemporary and sophisticated logo to reflect the evolution of AWNY as a forum for women to come together to network, share experiences, and celebrate Aussies ‘making it’ in New York. If you haven’t already, check out the details on the AAA website and throw your hat in the ring as all entries are welcome!

Secondly, please keep Tuesday, 28 October clear on your calendars as the culmination of our Social Media and Communications efforts to date. We’re officially launching everything – including a new logo – in an exciting evening of “How to’s and should do’s of personal branding, online presence and social media.

Revisiting the all-too-important topic of our non-profit work, next Tuesday, 7 October we’re also hosting an exclusive evening at the members-only Soho House New York to meet, mingle and glean a few insights about the Friends of Australian Wildlife Conservancy’s amazing work back home. AWNY’s proceeds from 2013 went to Friends of Australian Wildlife Conservancy and we’re excited for such a fabulous VIP experience to learn more.

And finally, AWNY’s growing! With lots of new members and incredible, diverse events we’d love some extra volunteers for the committee and welcome anyone to reach out if you’re interested. We’re always interested in your feedback too, so please feel free to contact me anytime with your thoughts.

So ladies, read on to learn more of what’s happening this month and we look forward to seeing you out and about soon!

Kind regards,

Shannon Marshall
AWNY President
