On July 14th, over 30 AWNY members and friends braved the torrential rain to network and hear from Audette Exel – founder of the ISIS Group, and CEO of ISIS (Asia pacific)– a corporate finance for-purpose business that focuses on funding core support costs of the ISIS Foundation – whose work in Nepal and Uganda deliver essential services to these communities.
Audette presented on the ISIS Foundations’ unique business model, which connects the business and non-profit world to bring about social change. She presented on their substantial philanthropy work of the last 15 years, including the creation of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Uganda – supporting more than 500 vulnerable babies, and work across Nepal and Uganda to improve the lives of more than 30,000 people in poverty, through health, education and other community development projects.
Audette was awarded an honorary Order of Australia in 2013, and recognized by Forbes as one of the 48 Heroes of Philanthropy. It was an honor to hear from Audette and have the opportunity to meet her. She was a true inspiration. Thank you to Macquarie Bank for supporting this event.
