When the sun comes out so does Shakespeare in the Park.
There are two I know about. The first one is in Central Park and is REALLY hard to get tickets too.
It’s complicated so for instructions click here
The next best thing is Shakespeare by the River on the Upper West Side. The Hudson Warehouse theatre group put this show on and it’s fantastic. Get there around 6pm to grab a good seat, take some snacks and enjoy the show. The group ask for donations at the end – it’s well worth a tenner for sure. They are an amateur group, so don’t expect all the bells and whistles of the one that happens in Central Park – but it’s just as good.
We took a stroll all the way up the Hudson from West 59th to West 89th street – where the show is held.
Here are all the details
Shakespeare by the River looks great! I’ll have to check it out 🙂
In years past I’ve made a habit of entering the online lottery for Shakespeare in the Park, and I’ve got tickets every year!! It’s such a spectacular experience, it’s definitely worth the few minutes every day to log on and enter.
