Lead – Communications Team
We’re looking for a lead (or two, or three, it can be a shared role) to guide our Communications Team – this role is focused on working with AWNY’s leadership and guiding our communications strategy, as well as managing the workload of the volunteer team and jumping in to help execute when needed. Communications Team Member
Do you love to talk, tweet, and share your way through New York City?
A sub-group of the AWNY Committee, the communications team is responsible for keeping Aussie & Kiwi women in New York connected with the best events, most fun activities, news from home and of course where to find the best coffee in town! We engage with over 6,000 womxn through various social media and communications platforms every single day.
You can help by researching and writing stories for our blog, creating our email newsletter, and engaging with our community across our social media accounts and groups (Facebook; Twitter; LinkedIn; and Instagram). If you have experience with blog writing, WordPress, MailChimp, social media management we’d love to hear from you.
Events Team Member
Are you always planning parties and get-togethers for your group of friends?
A sub-group of the AWNY Committee, the Events Team is responsible for planning and coordinating interesting events for Aussie & Kiwi women living in New York city. Usually this role includes things like:
- brainstorming event ideas
- coordinating logistics like securing venue spaces and speakers
- working with the Communications team to promote the event
- keeping track of RSVPs and ticketing
- attending the events to ensure everyone is having a blast!
Community Team Member
Are you interested in bringing together the Aussie and Kiwi women in our New York expat community?
A sub-group of the AWNY Committee, the Community team is responsible for hosting online events and activities where long-term expats and newcomers in New York can spend time getting to know one another, trade tips about living abroad and share a laugh or two. If you have a friendly disposition, enjoy being a conversation starter and providing support for others in group settings, we’d love to hear from you.
