Australian Women in New York (AWNY) invites you to our Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Fall Fling on October 9th, 2024. Join us to celebrate the achievements of our amazing volunteers, learn more about AWNY’s activities, and explore opportunities to get involved as a committee member. Plus, you’ll be able to make new connections during our speed networking session!

Looking to make a meaningful impact and expand your network in NYC? Our committees offer a range of opportunities for you to get involved based on your skills and interests. Here’s a closer look at what each of our five primary committees does:
Communications:
This team curates and shares content across newsletters, social media, and our website. This could be your perfect committee if you’re passionate about writing, graphic design, or digital media. We also work closely with the Events team to help promote AWNY’s activities throughout the year.
Events:
From garden parties and panel discussions to social get-togethers and seminars, the Events Committee handles the planning and execution of all AWNY events. If you enjoy bringing people together and organizing memorable gatherings, this is your chance to get involved.
Community:
The Community team focuses on outreach and support for new arrivals and existing members. They plan monthly coffee meetups, breakfast gatherings, and signature events like our Emotional Transitions discussions. If you’re interested in mentorship or community service, this is the committee for you.
Families:
This group creates resources and hosts family-friendly events like play dates, seasonal meetups, and school info sessions. If you’re a parent wanting to help fellow families navigate life in NYC or enjoy writing family-focused content, consider joining this committee.
Partnerships:
The Partnerships team develops relationships with organizations, businesses, and other entities that can offer resources and benefits to our members. If networking and negotiation are your strengths, your skills will shine here.
