What’s on for Anzac Day 2024 in NYC

Even though we’re living abroad and may not receive the day off for ANZAC Day, New York still has some wonderful opportunities to come together with fellow Aussies and Kiwis and take a moment to commemorate this very important day.

The Australian & New Zealand Consulates-General in New York will host commemorative events together on April 25th.

This year’s ANZAC Day Dawn Service will be held at Pier 86 at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum, located at W 46th & 12th Ave in New York. This event, featuring the Cadets of West Point—The U.S. Military Academy, will take place on Thursday, 25 April 2024, with an arrival time of 5:30 am for a 5:45 am start.

Civilian attendees are asked to wear respectful attire and come prepared for cold or inclement weather. Military attendees are requested to wear service dress or equivalent with medals. For security purposes, all guests must go through screening and have their bags inspected before entering the Pier. Free to attend, but please REGISTER HERE as registration is required for entry onto Pier 86.

The ANZAC Day Church Service will take place at the Trinity Church Wall Street (89 Broadway). at 10.30 am. The event is open to the public and free to attend, but please REGISTER HERE.

ANZAC Day & Veterans’ Lunch hosted by AAA

The Australian American Association will host a Veteran’s lunch at Cipriani’s downtown starting at 12pm. The 2024 Anzac Day Address will be delivered by Dame Quentin BryceFormer Governor-General of Australia at the Commemorative Service, and the Keynote address at the lunch will be provided by Admiral Michael M. Gilday 32nd Chief of U.S. Naval Operations. This is a great event hosted by the Association, and if you would like to attend, tickets can be purchased here.

ANZAC DAY Drinks with Mates with America Josh

Join America Josh in New York for an ANZAC Day Drinks with Mates event on April 25th from 6-8 PM at Isla & Co. in Midtown. Attendees can commemorate this special day while enjoying drinks and participating in a game of two-up. All are welcome, regardless of whether they’re new to the city or long-time residents, and guests are encouraged to bring friends along. Selected beers will be available for $6, wine for $9, cocktails for $12, and food specials. Upon arrival, look for the America Josh flag to say hello and join in the festivities. Register HERE.
