ANZAC Day in New York City, 2022

After a few years of virtual services to commemorate ANZAC Day, this year, Aussies, Kiwis and anyone else wishing to join can gather in person at the many events happening across the United States.

In New York, the Australian Consulate-General will host the Anzac Day Dawn Service in the New York Financial District to mark this special occasion. The service is free and open to the public.

Date: Monday, April 25 2022
Time: 5:30am arrival for a 5:45am start
Venue: Vietnam Veterans Plaza – 55 Water Street, New York City
Dress: Military – service dress or equivalent with medals; Civilian – respectful attire, please come prepared for cold or inclement weather
RSVP: Whilst RSVPs are not required, you are encouraged to register your interest.

The New York Magpies AFL Club is hosting an event on Sunday, 24th April at the Hairy Lemon at 1pm. Tickets are $25 and include a meat pie, pint, Anzac Biscuit and Magpies Stubby Holder.

The American Australian Association (AAA) has two events on Anzac Day to celebrate and recognize all Australian, New Zealand and American service personnel who have fought and been lost at war. Special guest speakers include Admiral Harry Harris, Jr. (Retd.), Former Commander, U.S. Pacific Command and Former U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, and Dame Quentin Bryce AD CVO, former Governor General of Australia. Washington, D.C

The Australian and New Zealand Embassies will co-host a dawn service in Washington, D.C.

Time: 5.30am – 6.15am
Location: World War I Memorial, 1449-1455 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, D.C.

Chicago, IL

The Australian Consulate-General in Chicago is hosting a commemorative service in Chicago. The service will be held at the Chicago Vietnam Veterans Memorial, on the Riverwalk at State & Wabash, followed by coffee and a light breakfast nearby.

The Australian Consulate-General in Houston is hosting a dawn service and gunfire breakfast to mark Anzac Day.
