Event Review: Dwelling Place of NY Fall Gala

The Dwelling Place of NY is AWNY’s charity partner for 2017. On October 19, they held their annual Fall Gala, celebrating 40 years on 40th Street, with all proceeds supporting their wonderful work.

AWNY proudly supported the event, filling two tables with AWNY members and guests, as well as contributing to the raffle and silent auctions with over $1,650 in donations.

AWNY committee member and guest on the evening, Tanya McCaw, said the event was “amazing and very well attended”.

“The Dwelling Place clearly have a huge amount of support from the community and local businesses. A special part of the evening was hearing a speech from a woman who had previously lived at the Dwelling Place and has now progressed and returned as a volunteer and mentor – there were a lot of tears when her amazing story was shared with the room,” Tanya said.

The representatives from AWNY were blessed and humbled to be part of this experience and we plan on making our contribution even bigger next year.
