Following closely on the heels of Valentines Day, Australian authors Rachel Hills and Skye Cleary will unpack the sociology and philosophy of love, sex, and romance, looking beyond the kind of click-bait that tends to dominate relationship advice in the internet age. Join us for a conversation in which we explore and expose some of the myths, fantasies, and unspoken assumptions we hold on to with our most intimate relationships.
The panel discussion will be moderated by Monica McCarthy.

Rachel Hills is a New York-based (born in Sydney) feminist, journalist and author of The Sex Myth, who is who is interested in the space where the personal meets the political, or what she calls “the politics of everyday life.” She has written for Cosmopolitan, The New Republic, Buzzfeed, TIME, The Daily Beast, NYMag and others.
Skye C. Cleary PhD MBA is a New York-based (born in Sydney) philosopher and author of Existentialism and Romantic Love. She lectures at Columbia University and City College of New York, and has been published with TED-Ed, Los Angeles Review of Books, The Huffington Post, Aeon, The Conversation, Business Insider, New Republic, ABC Radio National, The New Philosopher, YourTango and others.

Monica McCarthy is the founder of Cheshire Parlour philosophical dinner series and the impresaria for Holstee and Impact Hub’s Moonlight Society.
