New York Aussies are you ready to make your voices heard, get a democracy sausage and watch Australian legend Antony Green call the federal election results?
It is Federal Election season in Australia once again! And on Saturday, May 3rd, Australians will decide who will lead them into the future. We will get to have our say on who represents us in the 151 electorates that make up the House of Representatives and who controls the Senate.
Issues like cost of living, tariffs, medicare, housing and energy are dominating the campaign.
The political parties are barnstorming across Australian electorates, to safe, marginal and bellwether seats, laying out their policies, vision and promises for where they want to take Australia.
They have even employed unconventional tactics to reach more Australians. There have been Tik Tok clips, diss tracks and wands, and live streaming of playing the video game Fortnite.
And here in New York City, the Australian Electoral Commission has made it easy for Australians overseas to vote. Early voting is now open at the Australian Consulate-General in New York City. The Australian Consulate is located at 150 East 42nd Street, 34th floor, New York.

Over the next two weeks, Aussies can cast their vote by heading to the Consulate. Voting is available from Tuesday April 22nd through April 25th from 9am to 5pm and Monday April 28th through to Friday May 2nd from 9am to 5pm.
To find information on your electorate you can visit the AEC website here.
Appointments are not necessary to vote but you will need to show a Government-issued photo ID and undergo security screening prior to entering the voting location.

So whether you vote above or below the line, get down to the Consulate, make your voice heard and cast your ballot!
